NEW STORE PAUW MANNEN AMSTERDAM

Dutch men are fashion too and that’s more than clear when I had the opportunity to have a sneak peek in the new men store of Pauw Amsterdam. Pauw who’s known for their formal / sleek approach decided it was time to focus on the new generation and we are more than proud with that. Luxury in a new jacket combined with a good pair of denim is the way I would describe the style of the store if you ask me. Besides one of Amsterdam’s finest jeans maker brands called Denham, Pauw also sells Filling Pieces, Arc'Teryx Veilance, Adriano Goldschmied, Golden Goose Deluxe and many other brands. A great addiction when it comes to menswear. Soon there is more to see about this brand on my blog. Cant wait ?? Do not hesitate to visit this store at the van Baerlestraat 88-90 Amsterdam

AVELON MEETS SPRMRKT | THE SHOP IN SHOP

Yesterday was the launch of the shop in shop of Avelon at SPRMRKT and without a doubt I was there to browse through the wonderful S/S 2013 collection presented by the Designer himself and team. In company of a glass of wine and sweet macarons I made my way through the self-designed installation by the designer and I must say that I am totally inspired what I'm gonna wear for upcoming season. So I spotted some T-shirts with edgy prints and denim pants mixed with leather details and oh yeah, forgot to tell you that besides the main collection Avelon also sell some unprecedented and one of a kind pieces. Curious to know where I'm talking about. Go and take a look at the collection at SPRMRKT. TIP: Be fast, the Shop in shop will be there till the 31TH of march.

LA PETITE VESTE NOIRE BY KARL AND CARINE

Yeah I finally have it. La Petite Veste Noire. The book my boyfriend gave me for Valentines day after talking about it for hours and hours of course ;). This book made and photographed by Karl Lagerfeld in collaboration with Carine Roitfeld (Founder of The CR Fashion Book and Global Fashion Director of Harpers Bazaar) was really on my wishing list this year since I honestly admire the great creative minds of Carine and Karl so much. As the title of the book might tell you, the book is about one of Coco Chanel's biggest masterpieces created in 1954, The Little Black Jacket. Also known as La petite veste Noire. A jacket what never turns old-fashioned and is still worn by many icons nowadays. A few of these icons like Kanye West, Anna Wintour and Sarah Jessica Parker came together for a photoshoot what really paid off. The pictures in the book says enough words. It shows that one little black jacket can be there for a lifetime, for everyone. An iconic piece that will never fade away.

CLAES IVERSEN | UNTIGHT F/W 2013
25 JANUARY | REVIEW |
Yeah !! Amsterdam Fashion week has started again and let me tell you that besides I was really wondering what everyone was wearing, the most curious I was about my first show of Claes Iversen. A thing I really like about the collections of our Danish designer Claes, he always manage to hold my attention. His search for the perfect mix between ready to wear and couture really captivates and inspires me every time again. And that what he did again when the first winter 2014 looks appeared on the runway. In his collection called Untight strong and draped shapes embraced each other to create clothes yet fluid, yet constructed using fabrics like patent leather, silk and wool finished by beautiful patterns. This whole collection came into existence out of Claes love for craftsmanship and his former S/S 2012 collection where a bow top inspired him to untie it in this collection. A pleasure to watch and a great collection by Claes. Well done.

MAISON MARTIN WHO ??
Everyone probably noticed the collaboration between H&M and Maison Martin Margiela. A brand who's existing since 1988 and who's known for its Avant-Garde and conceptual style throughout the years. Also the house of Martin Margiela became mysteriously "famous" for it's anonymity and low profile approach like the Designer (real name Martijn) himself who never showed his face nor gave an interview to the media. It was him who was against the worship of labels. The always Non-commercial Designer.
Reason why Question marks appeared on my face when I heard about the news. "H&M, the most commercial brand out there having a collaboration with Margiela ??? A brand with a select few of enthusiasts worldwide has become the talk of the town on any blog, fashion website and magazine there is ???" I really don't understand this step the O.T.B Group (Only The Brave - holder Group of Diesel and Maison Martin Margiela) took. Fashion change but the important thing is to maintain the honor of the brands origin and certain habits if you ask me. What happened to the mysterious artist Margiela, what happened to the quality and what do you think ???
