TRYING OUT THE SAMSUNG SMART
Ow wow !! It's been a while ago since I posted something on my blog for the last time. Alot of things happened the past few months, reason why my blog became a little much abandoned. I'm truly, truly sorry for letting you all down but things are slowly changing. In my non-blogging days I walked into this smart camera by Samsung and lucky enough I had the chance to try it out. I have to tell you that I was looking for a new camera though so this camera came right on time. since the day I started my blog I was using a big mirror reflection camera, the quality is super but the only problem was that strolling around cariing this heavy camera was quite tiring. I think I'm not the only blogger with this problem. with the Samsung smart camera traveling around it much easier because of the compact and small shape. But what about the quality of the pictures. It was time to try it out. In collab. with Super sophisticated and a friend we organised a shoot and I was stunned by the results. More coming soon but for now I leave you all behind with this sneek peek picture above.

Dutch men are fashion too and that’s more than clear when I had the opportunity to have a sneak peek in the new men store of Pauw Amsterdam. Pauw who’s known for their formal / sleek approach decided it was time to focus on the new generation and we are more than proud with that. Luxury in a new jacket combined with a good pair of denim is the way I would describe the style of the store if you ask me. Besides one of Amsterdam’s finest jeans maker brands called Denham, Pauw also sells Filling Pieces, Arc'Teryx Veilance, Adriano Goldschmied, Golden Goose Deluxe and many other brands. A great addiction when it comes to menswear. Soon there is more to see about this shop on my blog. Cant wait ?? Do not hesitate to visit this store at the van Baerlestraat 88-90 Amsterdam here

VOGUE | THE BIRTH OF A QUEEN
Fairy tales do exist and even if it lasts no longer than two days you still remember it ever after. You might wondering where I'm talking about. It started with a prince Willem Alexander and a beautiful princess Maxima who became king and queen after the previous queen abdicated the throne. The people of the Netherlands were full of joy and so was I when I received an invitation from Vogue to attend their organised Queens Ball in the heart of Amsterdam. Everyone was looking beautiful from head to toe. Women in Jan Taminiau and Claes Iversen and men in their tailored suits. At that moment Hotel The Grand was the place where all the royal magic happened. The champagne was flowing heavily and through all the joy and laughter the new issue of Vogue appeared. In this special edition of Vogue Netherlands Karin Swerink (Editor in Chief of Vogue NL) and team focuses on the life of our Queen Maxima before and after taking over the throne. A story of a princess, fashion icon and now Queen of the Netherlands told in fashionable way. A must see. Curious about the Queens ball night ?? don't hesitate to check out my Instagram and Twitter page.

Yesterday was the launch of the shop in shop of Avelon at SPRMRKT and without a doubt I was there to browse through the wonderful S/S 2013 collection presented by the Designer himself and team. In company of a glass of wine and sweet macarons I made my way through the self-designed installation by the designer and I must say that I am totally inspired what I'm gonna wear for upcoming season. So I spotted some T-shirts with edgy prints and denim pants mixed with leather details and oh yeah, forgot to tell you that besides the main collection Avelon also sell some unprecedented and one of a kind pieces. Curious to know where I'm talking about. Go and take a look at

AVELON + SPRMRKT
And just before I couldn't wait any longer it happens. After Rotterdam, Dutch brand Avelon will launch their Pop-up store in one of Amsterdam's nicest multi-brand stores SPRMRKT and of course I'm there to celebrate that since I am a big fan of this brand. This all happened when I bought my first Avelon piece a few years ago. What I love about the brand is what Erik calls the "understated design". Even though his designs look discreet at first sight, you will find more and more details when observing it. Fashion for the eye but wearable without being over the top. Surely keep an eye on my blog to read the post of the upcoming launch. I'm looking forward !! See the site of Avelon right Here

With proud I represent to you Vive L' Homme. A new menswear brand based and founded in Amsterdam. Spotting this brand during Modefabriek I had a short talk with founder Timothy Wattimena who explained his cool brand to me. Vive L'Homme translated in English "Long Live the Man" targets on T-shirts. You are probably think, "What's new about starting up a T-shirt brand ??" but let me tell you the shirts of Vive L'Homme are different. Creating T-shirts out of rich materials and fabrics like cashmere, bamboo and silk the brand represents another level when it comes to T-shirts. Simplicity meets luxury and design at Vive L'Homme. Rumor has it there will be a store located in Amsterdam but for now let's all keep an eye on this brand. Follow this upcoming brand on twitter here or their Facebook page here

CONVERSION | DORHOUT MEES

Even as Dutch Blogger you can still be surprised by things from your own country. So I found this great brand named Dorhout Mees while browsing around on the web. The Brand is founded by Designer Esther Louise who graduated fashion designs at ArteZ, institute of arts. Being trained by Bruun's Bazaar and Tommy Hillfiger, Esther became Head Designer of the brand Circle of Gentlemen. That is why her brand was made to succeed after she launched her first and beautiful Spring / Summer collection in 2010. At days like these Esther surprises us with feminine yet structured collections as you can see in the beautiful video "Conversion" above. In this video we see Esther's 3TH collection. For this collection Esther was inspired by transformation and by the look of the video it feels like we look at the future. Just beautiful.

I will be right back at days I have some spare time. I am really looking forward to my new apartment and cant wait to show it to you. For now its time to buy loads of interior magazines and to be inspired. Still curious about what I'm doing ?? Don't hesitate and follow me at twitter: @Kaiiwong . Yeah I finally have it. La Petite Veste Noire. The book my boyfriend gave me for Valentines day (a bit early I know) after talking about it for hours and hours of course ;). This book made and photographed by Karl Lagerfeld in collaboration with Carine Roitfeld (Founder of The CR Fashion Book and Global Fashion Director of Harpers Bazaar) was really on my wishing list this year since I honestly admire the great creative minds of Carine and Karl so much. As the title of the book might tell you, the book is about one of Coco Chanel's biggest masterpieces created in 1954, The Little Black Jacket. Also known as La petite veste Noire. A jacket what never turns old-fashioned and is still worn by many icons nowadays. A few of these icons like Kanye West, Anna Wintour and ..

It shows that one little black jacket can be there for a lifetime, for everyone. An iconic piece that will never fade away.

A NEW BRAND BY H&M
What ?? I'm sorry ?? Really !! That was my reaction when I heard the great news about what's about to happen really soon. Sources on Internet like the website stories.com tell us that a new brand of Hennes and Mauritz is coming our way. This particular brand called "& other stories" will be a more exclusive and high-end brand focusing on Womenswear, shoes, bags and even cosmetics. The goal of the brand is to attract women who are creating their own style and vision due to fashion. A brand for the girl who know what she wants. Created by two teams located in Paris and Stockholm, head designer Anna Teurnell adds extra attention on quality, design and fabric and calls the different styles of the collections Masculine / Feminine chic. Sources also tell that the first stores will open in 7 fashion capitals of Europe such as Paris, Milan, London and Copenhagen but don't worry. Thanks to the Internet we can buy it online. Unfortunately I didn't found anything about a menswear line but you never know. Time to keep our eyes on this upcoming brand !!

COLD METHOD F/W 13/14

30 JANUARY | REVIEW |

Dressing up properly in suits, shirts and ties is .. not my favorite thing. Most of the time I feel old, boring or uncomfortable wearing a suit or any of that. Luckily Dieter (Designer of Cold Method) managed it Again to create a proper look with a touch of urban casual. Being inspired by King Charles (a singer / songwriter from the 80's) who's know for his rock & roll / modern hippie image, Dieter created looks representing this vibe in his own Cold Method way. Using different colors, fabrics and prints it was a pleasant show to watch. Something what caught my eye was the flower printed shirts in his Fall / Winter 2013 collection. Is this a trend coming up ?? I asked the Designer himself and according to Dieter men can to his opinion show a softer part of themselves. Dieter also used the flower prints in his previous S/S 2013 collection but after he continues his talk "The flower print is a big success, watch the collections of Paul smith for instance. It went marvelous for years but honestly the trend for F/W 13 will be the Paisley prints. I used it for my slimfit shirts. It's a really old pattern but looks great with the looks I presented at the show". So Paisley it is for winter 2013. What do you think ??

Yeah !! Amsterdam Fashion week has started again and let me tell you that besides I was really wondering what everyone was wearing, the most curious I was about my first show of Claes Iversen. A thing I really like about the collections of our Danish designer Claes, he always manage to hold my attention. His search for the perfect mix between ready to wear and couture really captivates and inspires me every time again. And that what he did again when the first winter 2014 looks appeared on the runway. In his collection called Untight strong and draped shapes embraced each other to create clothes yet fluid, yet constructed using fabrics like patent leather, silk and wool finished by beautiful patterns. This whole collection came into existence out of Claes love for craftsmanship and his former S/S 2012 collection where a bow top inspired him to untie it in this collection. A pleasure to watch and a great collection by Claes. Well done.

A NIGHT AT PARK PLAZA HOTEL AMSTERDAM

11 JANUARY | REVIEW |
You know those days you walk outside in the cold and think " I wish I'm laying in a hot soapy bubble bath". Well, at least that's what I'm thinking besides daydreaming about laying on the beach. Crazy enough my prayers were heard when Park Plaza Hotel invited me to sleep in one of there amazing whirlpool suites. Of course you can't say no to an offer like that so I went. Once I entered the hotel I noticed the easy atmosphere. Everything looked stylish and well thought out but most of all I loved the kind service of the staff. Once I had the keys I rushed to the suite, opened the door and happy as a child I admired my suite. After all the great stories I heard about the whirlpool I instantly ran to the bath, took off my clothes and jumped in. Once I was laying in it was very hard (almost impossible) to get out. Luckily the bed was just as great and I slept like a rose afterwards. Great about the hotel is the location of it. For the fashionista's like us the big shopping street is within walking distance. For the ones who are seeking relaxation you will find the local park on the other side of the hotel. Something for everyone. A great place to stay and to spend your winter holidays if you ask me. Again many thanks for letting me pass the night in this super Hotel and for the once who want to take a look. visit the website right HERE

Everyone probably noticed the collaboration between H&M and Maison Martin Margiela. A brand who's existing since 1988 and who's known for its Avant-Garde and conceptual style throughout the years. Also the house of Martin Margiela became mysteriously "famous" for it's anonymity and low profile approach like the Designer (real name Martijn) himself who never showed his face nor gave an interview to the media. It was him who was against the worship of labels. The always Non-commercial Designer.
Reason why Question marks appeared on my face when I heard about the news. "H&M, the most commercial brand out there having a collaboration with Margiela ??? A brand with a select few of enthusiasts worldwide has become the talk of the town on any blog, fashion website and magazine there is ???" I really don't understand this step the O.T.B Group (Only The Brave - holder Group of Diesel and Maison Martin Margiela) took. Fashion change but the important thing is to maintain the honor of the brands origin and certain habits if you ask me. What happened to the mysterious artist Margiela, what happened to the quality and what do you think ???
